truly trusting

there’s a difference b/w really resting on God’s provision & goodness for guidance in revision, and just praying as a “backup plan” so we can in a way be rid of responsibility of our results…in the former attitude, it’s inconsequential what the results are cos what matters is the process of daily living in God’s bigger scheme of plans…

but for the latter attitude, large importance is placed on the results and if these are not satisfactory in our human sight, bitterness against God can creep in…like asking why God didn’t You help me enough? we sometimes use our friends as an excuse, in the sense that we say the reason for wanting good grades is to be a testimony to Your goodness…but if in the first place we never had allowed You to take Your place in being in control, how shallow and insincere would our claims of being a good testimony be cos deep in our hearts, there would be that pride that we got the grades by our own strength…

romans 5:1-8 (cf 1cor 13:13) and now these 3 remain, faith, hope and love. but the greatest of these is love. roman 5 talks about how since we have been justified through faith in Christ, we can move on to the sure and blessed hope in our security in Christ, which results in love being poured into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, but also that we begin to love God back..
