You are my good King

I lost my personal notebook with all the things i’d learnt at Word Alive 2001 plus diary entries on personal reflections. left it on the plane from s’pore to Melbourne :( but i’ve prayed for peace and Lord, pls do turn this into something good.. better still if this is in your will, that the loss of this book may lead to gain for Your kingdom as mommy has encouraged me with this outlook! 

anyway, hopefully this electronic diary will hold out! it’s Christmas morning already.. thank You Lord for Your gift of life.. indeed 

“In Him was life, and that life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it/ the darkness has not overcome man who comes into the world… the true light that gives light to every man was coming into the world/ this was the true light that gives light to every man who comes into the world.” (john 1:5,7) 

thank You that it’s your light that gives us understanding that we might not be consumed by darkness and hopelessness… 

“This is the verdict: light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. but whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God.” (john 3:19-20) 

i was juz thinking of those who reject Your Name, Jesus.. they could be rejecting the presence of light – which is basically the presence of Your ordinances and decrees for You called light into being – darkness being the absence of God’s rule and decree.. 

or they could be acknowledging the presence of light but rejecting its goodness over darkness as in john’s passage above says that they are fearful that their deeds will be exposed.. i’m just thinking of esther’s case – if i were a subject of a king, and i know for certain the king is real, but if the king is evil, i would rather not follow him.. that i guess is the 2nd case mentioned above.. or a little warped from that for esther’s case, the king is evil.. but for us, the king is good! i guess it’s all a perception.. 

You are good.. but those bound by lies may see You as evil, and reject the truth in the Bible that You are a good God, full of light and truth.. 

“the Father loves the Son and has placed everything in His hands. Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on him.” (john3:35-36)
