desire

Lord You are more precious than silver, Lord You are more costly than gold, Lord You are more beautiful than diamonds and nothing i desire compares with You.. 

there’s nothing wrong in acknowledging that we desire things that are precious, costly and beautiful.. that’s why they are worth desiring.. plans, ambitions, hopes, dreams as well.. but it’s in acknowledging that we “consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord” and that we “consider them rubbish that [we] may gain Christ and be found in Him” that we begin to see that truly Jesus is more desirable than all desirable things on this earth, in such a comparison that makes all desirable things almost like rubbish when in fact they are very valuable by earthly standards! 

Lord pls help me surrender my feelings of desiring a man who loves – You, me, men – and not get distracted easily by any guy who seems so passionate for You. keep my thoughts pure and pleasing to You i pray.. thank You.. 

we desire to please You Lord, and to put You first.. but desire marks the limit of our ability, Your ability begins when ours comes to an end and You are the only One who can sustain us and keep us from falling, may we never stop desiring that.
