"whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin" (john 8:34). we must of necessity be servant to someone, either to God or to sin. the sinner prides himself on his independence, completely overlooking the fact that he is the weak slave of the sins that rule his members. the man who surrenders to Christ exchanges a cruel slave driver for a kind and gentle Master whose yoke is easy and whose burden is light. ~ a.w. tozer. the pursuit of God (p98)
Surrender..
changing masters, from the rule of sin to the rule of Christ.
but how many people in the world today see our human nature as a state of slavery to what sin desires - the coveting, the lusting, the self-gratification.. what a mind shift we need Lord.. indeed it's Your light that illuminates the actual horrifying subtlety of sin..
