"... it was at the church service at the international gospel centre with pohlson, nakaya & miho. a guest speaker, jo, gave a short sermon about the 5 loaves and the 2 fish (matthew 14:13-21). man, i'll never ever see this passage in the same light ever again. i always just saw it as a miracle by Jesus, displaying that nothing is impossible for Him. but jo drew a parallel between the loaves and our lives - our christian lives - about how Jesus takes us, breaks us ever so gently, takes what little we are or have and just multiplies it by His power to bless so many people more than you can do by yourself! and the best thing is that at the end of it, each disciple picked up a basketful of bread crumbs which shows how much more of you is left even after and serving and giving of yourself to God. i just started feeling overwhelmed at the idea of denying myself, taking up His cross and following Him.. and i was suddenly scared of what God demanded of my life - all the sacrifices and pain.. but Jesus will be my source and my strength and my goal.."

Hi dear Joey... It's a wonderful encouragement to find that the message of the fiveloaves has still remained real to you after all these years. I know you would agree with me to say that the have only become more real as we experience how God abundantly uses the little (and often flawed) offerings we have to multiply them beyond our imaginings. How often have I looked back at that lesson over the past few years!
